THE SOCIETY'S ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Due to its prodigious growth, the society is now active in Nablus and Ramallah as well as Tulkarem.
- The Society used specialized committees to provide necessary support in healthcare.
- Education programs for women and children are facilitated with cooperation from interested groups.
- The Society coordinates with national and regional networks to advocate issues of justice, freedom and peace. The society's human rights council works with partner groups who campaign for the realization of these values.
- The society runs educational sessions on human rights, democracy and accountability for young people and students.
- The society helps the families of those killed or detained as a result of the conflict, and provides assistance to people who are injured.
- The society also provides help to people whose livelihoods have been affected by the construction of the West Bank wall, particularly farmers.
- The society provides opportunities for the above groups to network and cooperate.
- The society coordinates its activities with civil institutions, the Ministry of Education, and healthcare institutions.
- Women and children are given training workshops.
- Assistance is given to students who lack financial means; many school children are provided with equipment for example.
- The society established a social action committees of Folk Art, and collaborates with cultural groups like Dar Qandeel.
- The society established several summer clubs and camps for children to develop their capabilities and talents.
- The society has sought to provide psychological counseling for young people traumatized by the conflict, with a new partnership with Psychologists without Borders.
- The society seeks to end the marginalization of different groups in society by encouraging and providing community services.
- In partnership with medical specialists, the society provides days of free medical tests, especially for women and children.
- The society methodically seeks to help all those disadvantaged in society.
ADDENDUM:
General projects that have been implemented during the year 2006/2007:-
- The project of building and furnishing of the Centre for Rehabilitation and Community Service.
- Draft food basket, which happened during the holy month of Ramadan, wherein equipment was collected for disadvantaged students and distributed in Tulkarm.
- Eid al-Fitr film project.
- The society coordinated with the Ministry of Education Programme (Know Yourself Early) to identify genetic blood diseases and implement appropriate medical responses in parnterhsip with the Friends of Charities Association, Physicians for Human Rights and the Hippocrates Centre for Blood Diseases.
